You can bet on a whole host of Champions League betting markets at BoyleSports, including:
Outright winner: Bet on which team you think will hold the Champions League trophy aloft after the final in May. You can bet from the start of the competition right up until the showpiece final in Budapest.
Match winner: Bet on one of the two teams to win in a Champions League encounter, whether league match, play-off or knockout.
Both teams to score: Wager on both teams hitting the back of the net in a Champions League match.
Total goals over / under: Place a bet on the total goals in a match being over or under a certain amount – for example 2.5.
Correct score: Bet on what you think the final score will be for a given match.
In-Play betting: Bet live while the action happens on the pitch, whether you want to bet on the next goalscorer, the half-time score or the final score.
Top goalscorer: One of our most popular outright betting markets. Place a bet on the player to finish the competition with the most goals. Current contenders include Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Alexander Isak.
Nationality of winner: Bet on the country of the winning club (for example, English, Spanish, or German).
League stage winner: With the updated Champions League format, you can bet on which team will finish top of the single league table.
Player specials & niche markets: We also have odds on more specific outcomes, including the likes of total corners in a match, the number of bookings, or player-specific proposition bets.
When it comes to betting on the Champions League, it helps to look into the data around team and player performance, as well as the new competition structure. Specifically:
Analyse league phase trends: Look at how teams perform in the new, longer league phase. Stronger teams may secure qualification early which means they may rest players in their last few games of the league phase – this could see some upsets. Remember, that a strong start in then league phase doesn’t always guarantee success. In 2024/25, PSG struggled in the early league matches but hit form at the right time in the knockout stages to dominate the latter part of the tournament and take the title.
Understand the format: The away goals rule no longer applies in the knockout phase of the Champions League. This can alter the way that teams approach the away legs. Will they try and keep it tight or go for it?
Look for value: Focus on markets where you believe the odds may actually underestimate a likely outcome. This is often a better strategy than simply betting on the favourite. An example could be an underdog that has a surprisingly strong record in the head-to-head against one of the top sides.
Looking for a little help with your Champions League betting? Over on the BoyleSports blog, we’ve got Champions League betting tips and predictions from our in-house football experts.
It’s simple to read Champions League odds. Take the example of Manchester City to win the competition outright with odds of 5/1. It means that if your bet is successful, you’d get back five times back what you bet. So, if you wagered £10, you’d win £50 and get your original £10 back for a total of £60.
You might also see odds written as decimal odds. While it may look confusing at first, it’s simple to understand. You simply multiply your stake by the decimal odds. For example, decimal odds of 5.00 mean that a £10 bet would return £50.
You might also see betting Exchanges when you bet on the Champions League. When you play on the Exchange, you’ll see the option to Back or Lay an outcome. Back means betting on this outcome to happen, while Lay means betting on it not to happen.
Before you place any bet on the Champions League, use our helpful betting calculator to work out your potential winnings. It’s easy to use and helps you plan out your bets.
The Champions League first began life as the European Cup in 1955. In the early days it was only open to sides that won the title in their respective country, and was a straight knockout competition with no seeding. Manchester United was the first English team to lift the coveted trophy in 1968, with the likes of Bobby Charlton and George Best starring in the final. Real Madrid were the team to beat early on, winning the first five European Cups on the bounce. They’re now sitting pretty at the top of the tree with 15 wins in total.
The competition was officially re-branded as the Champions League in 1992, with the addition of the group stage. This ushered in the era of some truly great players, including the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Paolo Maldini, and Ronaldinho. Manchester United scooped the title in 1999 on the way to a historic treble, while Liverpool won one of the most famous finals of them all in Istanbul in 2005. Chelsea took their first ever Champions League crown in 2012. During these years, we also saw one of the most famous football rivalries ever emerge, between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo – these two greats took the game to places it had never been before.
We again saw a change to the format in 2024, with the competition expanded from 32 to 36 teams. The old groups were replaced by one league table, with each team drawn against six different opponents. The top eight teams automatically qualify for the Round of 16, while teams finishing 9th to 24th enter a two-legged knockout play-off. It means we get some epic encounters between the big boys early on and see some of the smaller sides punching above their weight.
Whether you’re betting on the Champions League or any other football competition, we’re always committed to providing a safe and secure betting environment for all our players.
We promote responsible gambling to all our players to help you stay in control of your betting experience. You’ll find plenty of resources on our site to help with responsible gambling and to ensure your time betting with us remains fun.

There are plenty of teams amongst the favourites to win the Champions League in 2025/26. Top of the pile are last season’s champions PSG, with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea all in the mix.
A variety of different factors can influence Champions League odds. A big name player being injured or suspended can affect the odds, as can a top player returning to the side. The head-to-head record between the teams and current form going into an encounter can have an impact too. Betting trends can also play a part, with the odds changing in line with bettors all backing a certain outcome.
You’ll find some of the most competitive Champions League odds anywhere online with us at BoyleSports. We work hard to make sure our odds are fair and always offer good value to our players.
The current Champions League champion is Paris Saint Germain (PSG). The French side won their first ever Champions League title in 2025, defeating Internazionale in the final.
Real Madrid are currently the team with the most Champions League titles. Los Blancos have 15 wins in total. Next up is AC Milan on seven, followed by Liverpool and Bayern Munich on six.
The 2026 Champions League final will be held on Saturday 30th May 2026 at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest.
Current stars of the Champions League include Mo Salah, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Lamine Yamal, Ousmane Dembele, and Harry Kane.
