An outright GAA bet is a bet on which team you think will win a certain competition. It could be a bet on Kerry, Dublin or Galway winning the All-Ireland Football Championships or a wager on Kilkenny or Cork winning the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship.

How does outright betting work for GAA? 


Outright betting is a straightforward bet. It’s just a case of choosing which team you think will win overall in a certain competition, league or tournament. Whatever GAA competition you want to bet on, you’ll see a list of all the teams that are competing and their odds of winning.  


Let’s take the example of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championships. At the start of the competition when the provincial championships are held, you’ll see outright odds for every team involved – you can also bet outright on the winners of each of the four provincial competitions. 

 

Then as 16 teams progress through to the All-Ireland Championships, each will have outright odds of winning it. As teams continue to be knocked out, the teams remaining will have outright odds until we make it through to the final. The two teams battling it out in the final will then have outright odds of winning it. 

 

You can bet on the outrights at any time during the competition. And once you’ve chosen your outright bet, it’s just a case of watching the action to see if your team wins and your bet comes in. 


 

How do I place an outright bet? 


At BoyleSports you can place an outright bet at any time during a GAA competition. For the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship you’ll see the outright odds from the start of the tournament right up to the final. The odds will change in line with teams’ form and when others get knocked out.  


Outright odds are slightly longer than match betting for example as there are so many variables that can change throughout a season or competition.  


Once you’ve chosen your competition and team, all you need to do is check the outright odds for your team, select your stake and make your bet.
